Workmen for Christ

For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life. For God sent not his Son into the world to condemn the world; but that the world through him might be saved.--John 3:16-17

Salvation from Death: Everlasting Life . . .

Have you ever heard the Glorious Gospel of Jesus? Well, let me tell you an excellent true story. . .

Long ago, thousands of years ago, The Almighty God created all that exists. He created the heavens and the Earth. He created the angels in heaven, and the stars and planets that reside in space. He created the Earth and all that dwell in the Earth: plants and animals alike . . . even people. In fact, out of all that He has created, we are His most special creation in His eyes!

Sadly though, an angel in heaven, one of God's most beautiful, fell into pride. Lucifer, as was his name, stated that he wanted to be enthroned above God Himself. He wanted to be worshiped more than the very One who created him. Unfortunately he convinced a third of all the angels in heaven that he was right, and that he deserved to be worshiped. As a result of such pride Lucifer and those angels with him were cast out of heaven and given a specific place to dwell: Hell. Lucifer's is now known as Satan, that vile devil.

Satan hates God, and as God had shown such love for people, calling them His most special creation, that devil decided to compete for people's affection. He, in the form of a serpent, deceived the first woman, named Eve. And she convinced her husband the first man, named Adam. Satan convinced Adam and Eve to eat of the fruit of the tree of knowledge of good and evil. God had specifically warned them not to eat of that tree, and instead gave them the fruit of all the other trees to eat. But Satan tricked them into believing God was a liar, and that God was only wanting to keep them from being equal to Himself. Believing Satan, they ate that fruit that was forbidden. Their disobedience to what God had told them, was a sign and a show that they had chosen to obey Satan instead of God. Satan received their affection.

As a result of their disobedience, Adam and Eve were cursed with death. Their lives which were perfect, now would be riddled with hardship, sickness, disease, and death. And because they were at the head of all creation, the rest of creation suffered as well. Beforehand, none were subject to death, but now they would die. They were cursed: from dust was Adam formed, to dust again would he become. And yet, not only him and his wife, but all their children. Along with their children's children, and so on, all the way down the line. We are their descendants. And we are cursed with death . . . and sin. Sin is from disobedience to God . . . and like a disease it was passed down from generation to generation, all the way down to us. And this sin, caused them--and us--to lose the fellowship with God which we had in the garden before Adam and Eve Sinned. We could no longer have eternal life. We could no longer have such close fellowship--Creator with His most precious Creation. All because we and all mankind, have sin in our lives.

But God would not let this fallen angel, Satan, forever win. He had a plan to make it once again possible for people to have fellowship with Him. He loves us too much to let us go like that. So, after generations upon generations upon generations, God decided the time was perfect for Him to send that Way for us to know Him again, and have True Life--Everlasting Life. He came to us in the form of flesh and blood! He left His throne, and clothed Himself with humanity, and dwelt among us as the form of the Only Begotten Son of God. He came to us, and showed us the Truth. He forgave sins, He healed the sick, He raised the dead. Then, according to His Perfect Plan, He let people torture Him beyond compare, and kill Him on a cross. But that wasn't the end of His plan, rather the beginning. Three days later, He rose from the grave, openly showing that He has conquered sin on the cross, and death in the grave! After rising from the dead, He was seen of thousands, and ate with them even. Then, after His work was finished, He ascended back to heaven, enthroned above, making a way for us to Know Him, and Know Life! All that we have to do to have this life and salvation from sin and death, is believe on His Name, trusting completely in Him! The name of the Only Begotten Son of God, the Saviour of all Mankind. . .

Jesus of Nazareth, Christ The Saviour!!

He, Jesus Christ, who came to conquer sin and death, is the way for us to receive forgiveness for the sins we have committed. And once we have received that forgiveness, and have been cleansed from the sin, we can have that relationship with God our Creator once again! And not only that, but even though our earthly bodies may die, we have been given Eternal life, after death we shall live---if we believe on Christ! As a consequence of sin, those who do not believe on Christ are forever separated from God. And after death, because of sin, those without Christ will be cast into hell and then at Judgment Day, will be cast into the Lake of Fire . . . along with Satan and those angels who chose to follow him.

God does not force us to have life, nor to have a relationship with Him. He doesn't force anyone to believe on Jesus for forgiveness, and the Way to True Life and Salvation. So not all people are given this life and forgiveness automatically. We must willfully come to Jesus Christ. We must believe on Him, to have this gift of Eternal Life. Do you want this life? Do you want to accept this gift God has given us? Here's How . . .

Because of Adam's sin, sin has passed down to all of us:
Romans 3:10 "As it is written, There is none righteous, no, not one:"
Romans 3:23 "For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God;"
Romans 5:12 "Wherefore, as by one man sin entered into the world, and death by sin; and so death passed upon all men, for that all have sinned."

But God showed us how much He loves us, by sending Jesus to die for us when we were still in sin and separated from God.
Romans 5:8 "But God commendeth his love toward us, in that, while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us."

Sin causes death, both spiritual and physical death. But God's Gift for us is Eternal Life, through Jesus Christ!
Romans 6:23 "For the wages of sin is death: but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord."

All we have to do to receive the gift of God, is to call On the Name of the Lord Jesus, and Believe On Him:
Romans 10:13 "For whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved."
Romans 10:9-10 "That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved. For with the heart man believeth unto righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation."

Pray a prayer similar to the following, meaning it from the depths of your heart:

"Lord Jesus, I know that I am a sinner, and without you there is no salvation. I ask that you please come into my heart and my life. Lead me and take control, as my Lord and Saviour. I believe that You, Jesus, are the Son of God who has been risen from the dead so that I may have Life. Please forgive me for all the sins I have committed, and save me, Lord. I ask this in Your name, Lord Jesus, Amen."

If you have just prayed that prayer, from your heart, truly meaning it, then all those in heaven at this very moment are rejoicing and shouting for Joy because you have been saved and forgiven, set free from having to obey the sinful desires and have now been given Everlasting Life!
