Workmen for Christ

It is better to trust in the Lord than to put confidence in man.--Psalm 118:8

Hurricane Katrina

There is much in the news about the horrible tragedy of Hurricane Katrina. Hundreds of thousands of people have been directly affected, and nations more have been affected otherwise. Living in the Southern Louisiana area close to where the storm hit, I've been largely affected myself.

As the world watches on, it shocks all to see the devastation and the vastness of such a tragedy in what is called the world's strongest nation. Peoples and nations across the world have sought ways to help in the devastation, and Workmen for Christ ministries extends a helping hand as well. Yet, we also reach our hand out, to ask for help from you personally.

Many say, "I would love to help, but I don't have anything to give." Do you have faith? Give that. Prayer is not a "last resort." Prayer is nothing weak, but rather prayer reaches the ears of God Himself! With all that we see in the aftermath of the Hurricane, one thing is evident: ultimately, man cannot help himself. True help comes from the Lord and the Lord only!

Here is how you can help. At Noon, United States Central Standard Time (The Time zone where Hurricane Katrina hit), pray. If we can get people all over the American Continent, even the world, to pray, most certainly the effects will be nothing short of outright miraculous!

Now, praying all at the same time isn't utterly necessary, but it feels great to know that at the very same time that you are praying, you have so many others praying right there with you for the same thing. So if you are unable to pray at Noon, United States Central Standard Time, please pray at Noon Time for the Time Zone you are in. You can rest assured then, that others in your time zone are also praying right there with you!

Pray
At Noon

Please stand in agreement with us, and many others for:
  • Wisdom and Understanding for all involved
  • Safety for the rescuers
  • Safety for those needing to be rescued
  • Safety for the evacuees in shelters
  • Those without power/electricity, have it restored for safety's sake
  • Speedy Recovery and Relief
  • That ALL of this, will turn ALL eyes away from false gods/beliefs and toward God Almighty to know how much we ALL need Him!
Our Faithful prayers, are indeed heard!

If you talk to someone affected by Katrina, and they need monetary help from FEMA or other organizations, tell them this: When FEMA gives them a check for money, do NOT spend it at that time. Make sure they go to the other organizations first (i.e. Red Cross, Faith Based Organizations). The other organizations are more likely to help match FEMA's contribution, and help pay for the building of a house. If this is done, in the end the person will most likely have enough money to rebuild their house, instead of coming short because he/she only received money from one place that doesn't cover ALL the costs of rebuilding.
